From Your CoFounder: Farewell, MistyWest

Colleagues, partners, clients, and friends –

After a decade at MistyWest, the time has come for me to leave my day to day roles ahead of my move with my family to Australia.

It is with very mixed emotions that I say those words. On one hand, I’m excited to start a new life surrounded by family and the opportunity to explore new pathways for my career. On the other hand, I’m incredibly sad to be leaving Vancouver and to be saying goodbye to all of you.

My time at MistyWest has involved many roles and responsibilities. I started as an engineer, and then moved through project management, client engagement, culture coordinator, and operations. At times it felt like I was doing a thousand things at the same time, while other times my focus was singular. The common thread is that I have always done what was needed by the organization and have done my best to apply myself fully to any task, even when I felt out of my depth.

I consider myself incredibly lucky to have ‘stumbled’ into founding MistyWest with Leigh Christie and in turn to have met all of you. I am so truly grateful to have had the privilege to work with such intelligent, kind, and optimistic individuals. It has been a privilege to create, along with the team, a culture of transparency, integrity, and equality.

I have always considered MistyWest to include all the people both within the organization as well as those outside that have been integral to our shared successes. I am immensely proud of what we have all accomplished together. I’m confident that the best is still ahead and I have the comfort of knowing that MistyWest is in the best possible hands.

In the words of Margaret Mead, I implore all of you to “never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”

Thank you for all you have taught me and for sharing this past decade with me.

With love and hope,
