CASE STUDIES
EXYN TECHNOLOGIES
MistyWest combined the pre-existing, groundbreaking LiDAR mapping and autonomous navigation products from Exyn Technologies into one single, modular package.
ROCKBURST TECHNOLOGIES
To help significantly reduce comminution energy consumption, MistyWest designed and built a laboratory scale apparatus to pulverize porous rock via rapid expansion of supercritical CO2.
GENERAL FUSION
MistyWest supported General Fusion’s mission to develop a novel and commercially viable approach to fusion energy with a diagnostics system architecture design.
Renesas
MistyWest partnered with Renesas to develop our first internal product called the ‘MistySOM’ built around the Renesas RZ/G2L and RZ/V2L MPUs.
Ideon Technologies
MistyWest miniaturized prototype muon tomographers that harness cosmic rays from space and are capable of providing x-ray-like visibility up to 1 km beneath the Earth’s surface.
Attabotics
Attabotics brought on MistyWest to support ideation and development for adding a supplementary Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor to their wheeled-ANT robots – with a requirement of 99.999% accuracy.
Light AI
MistyWest redesigned a pre-existing prototype of a handheld computer vision diagnostic device so that it would meet the Internal Review Board (IRB)’s usability and deployment requirements of a clinical setting.
World Wildlife Fund
As climate change progresses, the evolving behavioural and migration patterns of polar bears has made it difficult to reliably track their locations. WWF and IDEO reached out to MistyWest to design an Argos based tracking device to help solve this problem.
HAVEN
HAVEN (formerly TZOA) wanted to develop a compact, multi-sensor device capable of monitoring indoor air quality and providing a platform for data aggregation – all while keeping the product at a consumer price of less than $200 a unit. Hey, we said we love a hard problem!
Fatigue Science
Fatigue Science’s low power sleep monitoring wristband required a design update, including battery optimization that would extend its lifespan from 7 days to 30.
VodaSafe
MistyWest was responsible for architecture design, enclosure design, experimentation and production of the first 5 devices of a first-of-its-kind lifesaving product for VodaSafe; a handheld sweeping sonar technology intended to quickly scan underwater for drowning victims.
Amazon Fresh
MistyWest was subcontracted to develop a prototype for AmazonFresh’s new rapid grocery pickup service. This entailed designing a unit according to the client’s existing Industrial Design Volume, in addition to being resistant to the variables of outdoor climate, and meeting requirements of UL certification.
LGT Medical
Pre-Eclampsia Diagnostic Device
MistyWest was contracted to design, fabricate, and assemble an interface for a multi-sensor medical diagnostic platform intended to help identify pre-eclampsia in pregnant women in remote areas.
MIT
Based on technology invented by MIT, Superpedestrian founding members reached out to MistyWest to make the next generation prototype for the Copenhagen Wheel that was reliable and cost effective.
